The Corn Exchange features independent boutiques, your favourite stores at Trinity Shopping Centre, and designer shops at the Victoria Quarter. You’ll also find small shops selling pre-loved, vintage items! We mean it when we say Leeds has it all!
6). Foodies Will Be Happy
Leeds also offers food for everyone, no matter what type of foodie you may be! In fact, the city centre is home to some of the most famous restaurant chains in the world. Do you enjoy a certain cuisine? Then you won’t be disappointed. Leeds has it all.
The city offers wonderful street food; in fact, many restaurants and bars are including street foods in their menus. You’ll even find street vans selling some great street food in the city!
All types of cuisines can be found in Leeds. For instance, check out the Bengal Brassier, where you can enjoy some delicious Asian, Balti, Bangladeshi, and Vegetarian/Vegan dishes. 7). Lively Nightlife in Leeds
After mentioning all the great food in the city, next we must tell you about Leeds’ lively nightlife! If you’re the party type, you’ll be happy to learn that the city is filled with bars, pubs, and nightclubs to enjoy when you’re needing a break from studies.
You can find some of these lively spots in Call Lane, the Northern Quarter, and more. It’s a fact that Leeds has been voted as one of the best nightlife places in the UK!
And we would be remiss if we didn’t mention that some nightlife clubs/pubs offer nights exclusively for students! So, party on!
8). Leeds is a Green City
Do you need a place where it’s possible to enjoy some green spaces in the city? Then Leeds has you covered here, as well! Leeds features over 4,000 hectares of green space; for this reason, it’s known as one of the greenest places not only in the UK, but in all of Europe!
You can enjoy some time out in the greenery at Roundhay Park, which is a favourite for locals and visitors alike. It’s one of the largest parks in Leeds at 700 acres. You’ll find areas for sports, places for kids, and plenty of beautiful walking in this area.
Don’t miss Kirkstall Abbey. Here, you’ll find greenery with a bit of history added in. The large building here was once a Cistercian monastery built in the 12th century. Today, you’ll enjoy the walls of the Abbey, along with some open spaces where you can walk and take in the beautiful scenery.
Beckett Park, located next to the Headingley campus of Beckett University, is a gathering place for students. Here you’ll find open grassy areas where you can enjoy the sun, throw a frisbee with friends, or just sit outside and study.
